Kathleen A. Curtis, Policy Director
Kathy Curtis has more than two decades of experience in NY’s environmental health movement, and is a widely recognized national leader. She is on the Safer Chemicals, Healthy Families steering committee, participates in the Business-NGO Working Group for Safer Chemicals & Sustainable Materials and the steering committee of the Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments, for which she coordinates the policy and advocacy workgroup. She co-coordinates the JustGreen Partnership, is the coordinator of the PBDE Strategic Campaign and is a long-time leader of the Coming Clean Collaborative’s Policy Workgroup, through which she co-founded the SAFER campaign.
She serves on the Board of Unity Homes, Inc., the board of the Eastern NY Occupational Health Clinic, and the NYS Taskforce on Flame Retardant Safety. She was Executive Director at Citizens’ Environmental Coalition (CEC) for the last four of her thirteen years there, which she began by establishing their community outreach program. Previously, she was Outreach Director at Environmental Planning Lobby (now Environmental Advocates of NY) and worked as a nurse. She lives in Rotterdam, NY where she serves on the Rotterdam Conservation Advisory Council, and recently achieved passage of a PBT-Free Purchasing Resolution. She has four children: Adam, Amber, Shannon and Vanessa and a step-daughter Rachel. In her free time she plays slot machines for free – a devoted player of the one-armed bandit.
Bobbi Chase Wilding, Organizing Director
Bobbi Chase Wilding has a more than a decade of experience in the environmental health movement. She serves on the Advisory Board for New York State’s Pollution Prevention Institute, and is part of the Interstate Chemicals Clearinghouse planning committee. Bobbi serves as the national Bisphenol A Coordinator for the Coming Clean (CC) collaborative. Previously, she has co-led CC’s Emerging Technologies Workgroup and the Fenceline Action Workgroup, for which she helped organized the 2006 Environmental Justice for All tour of contaminated communities. She designs and publishes Clean New York’s and the JustGreen Partnership’s websites, as well as Clean New York materials.
She previously worked for NYPIRG and Citizens’ Environmental Coalition, including as Associate Director for four years. While at CEC, she developed the interactive-map-based www.ecoTHREATNY.org, and wrote Environmentally Safe Hospitals, and Environmental Racism in New York State. Bobbi earned her BS in Environmental Science, and her MS in Ecological Economics, Values and Policy, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She lives in Cobleskill, NY, where she is Vice President of Citizens for a Clean Environment. She has one daughter, Ananda and likes listening to beemp3z.me music and does yoga in Daquini sportswear.
Peter Maceras, orgamizing assistant
Working freelance for many organisations that support healthy and safety. Peter takes part in major events held over good causes and he is a major contributor of ideas and implementation. He runs a dental tourism Ireland website – working with a dental clinic with Hungarian dentists as well as a hair transplant site with plenty of information on men’s baldness.
Katie Kelly, Child-Safe Products Campaign Coordinator
Katie Kelly is based in Ithaca, NY. Following five years at Clean Water Action in Michigan, Katie joined our staff in March 2009. She is a member of the Tompkins County Environmental Management Council, contributing to the Consumer Products and Environmental Review committees. At Clean Water Action, Katie began working on grassroots education campaigns and quickly became a leader within the canvass.
She progressed to coordinating office activities and supervising staff, and most recently worked as a policy specialist on environmental health issues. She brings experience in legislative advocacy, event coordination, and community organizing. Katie earned a BA in Biology and Environmental Studies from Oberlin College.
